Benefits and credits can make a big difference to people in our community. The CRA’s CVITP and Benefits Outreach Program help people and the organizations that serve them to learn about the benefits of tax-filing, the benefits and credits they may be eligible for, and the supports available to help with completing an income tax and benefits return.
As 2023 is closing, our thoughts will soon turn to the dread of filing our annual tax returns. Once again, NLPSPA and the member associations of the Coalition have engaged with representatives from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) to host an information session for seniors on income tax, benefits, credits, how to prepare your taxes, how to avoid payment interruptions, and what services CRA can provide. In addition to addressing these topics, other subjects will also be addressed, such as GST/HST credit, disability tax credit, pension income splitting, and medical expenses, etc. CRA will also provide information on the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program, online services and answer general questions you might have.
Our presenter for this event will be Heather Angnatok from the CRA location in Happy Valley/Goose Bay, Labrador.
