Digital Government and Service NL February 23, 2021 The Department of Digital Government and Service NL has been informed that residents of the province are receiving automated telephone calls claiming to be from the legal branch of the department. These calls are fraudulent and residents should hang up immediately. While Caller ID is a useful function, the information displayed can be altered by criminals. Never rely on the displayed information only to confirm the identity of the caller whether it be an individual, company or a government entity, even if it appears to be from a local number. Anyone who receives a suspicious communication should immediately report it to the Anti-Fraud Centre of Canada or call 1-888-495-8501.

A 10-Year Health Transformation. This Report is built on significant engagement with the people of the province, use of the existing evidence, and the focused work of six strategy committees and four working groups led by a broadly representative Task Force. A Summary of the Report is also available in various languages. The conclusion of the intensive engagement and research conducted for this Report is that we can significantly improve the health of the people of our province over the next ten years. To honour survivors and raise awareness about the terrible legacy of residential schools in Canada, the NLPSPA will observe the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on September 30, 2021. Marking this day is extremely important to the reconciliation process. By recognizing a National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, all Canadians will be able to reflect, learn, and grieve the histories and cultures of the Indigenous peoples. We encourage our members to take time to honour the children who survived, and those who did not.

Board Members Members of the Board of Directors are elected by the Association at the Annual General Meeting for three-year terms. Board Members are eligible for re-election for a second three-year term but then must leave the Board for at least one year before further eligibility. The exception is the President, who serves a two (2) year overlapping term as President during the three (3) year Board term. Should the term of President extend beyond the Board term, the President is enabled to complete the term of President and continue for a further one (1) year to serve as Past President. The President shall not be eligible for re-election for a second consecutive term. Click here for a list of previous SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS   In 2024, NLPSPA will award four annually renewable scholarships as follows: Scholarships (x4), one to a value of $2,000, a second to a value of $1,500.00, a third to the value of $1,000.00, and a fourth to the value of $500.00 to support an NLPSPA member or a family member of an NLPSPA member (son, daughter, or grandson/granddaughter) to pursue post-secondary education at a recognized college, university or trades program to attain their educational goals, meet their professional objectives and succeed to their fullest potential. I am writing to you now in relation to the efficiency drive by many bodies, including governments and the business and finance communities, to increase the use of digital services for purchases, registrations, recording information, making appointments, banking and many other transactions.
