Through a partnership with the Canadian Foundation for Economic Education (CFEE), CARP NL and NLPSPA will co-sponsor another series of online webinars aimed to help older persons and retirees live with dignity, confidence, and financial security in their retirement years. The first of five workshops will take place, as follows:
When: Tuesday, March 10, 2026
Time: 2:00-4:00 PM
Retirement brings new freedom—and new financial decisions. This interactive workshop helps older adults build a practical retirement budget by understanding their income sources, expenses, and the choices that shape long-term financial stability. Participants will review Canada’s retirement income system—including CPP, OAS, GIS, employer pensions, RRSPs, RRIFs, TFSAs, and part-time work—to understand how each source contributes to monthly cash flow and overall budgeting.
Through guided activities, attendees map out current and anticipated expenses, from housing and health costs to caregiving responsibilities and lifestyle changes. Participants also learn practical approaches to converting savings into reliable income, managing withdrawals, and preparing for unexpected costs. Participants will leave with a clear budgeting framework to compare income and expenses, identify gaps, and make informed financial decisions throughout retirement.
This is an online event. Registration is required.
