DESCRIPTION:CARP NL Chapter invites our NLPSPA members and friends to join us for a fun-filled\, exciting\, sing-along evening with musician Fergus O’Byrne. \nFergus is an Irish-Canadian musician who brings happiness\, laughter and gaiety to life. \nFergus O’Byrne is well-recognized for his efforts in promoting Newfoundland and Celtic music and has received several awards acknowledging these accomplishments including an ECMA Lifetime Achievement Award and an NLAC Arts in Education award shared with Jim Payne.  \nWe are delighted to inform you that Fergus and Jim were awarded the Newfoundland and Labrador Premier’s Inaugural Medal for Arts\, Heritage\, Sports and Recreation in December 2024. The Inaugural Medal was for their outstanding contributions\, efforts and accomplishments preserving and promoting Newfoundland and Labrador’s vast heritage and history. \nIn addition to touring nationally and internationally\, Fergus works extensively mentoring young folk enthusiasts and students throughout the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. \nPlease click below to register and join us by Zoom on Tuesday evening (March 18th). DESCRIPTION:NLPSPA and the affiliated associations of the NL Seniors Coalition will sponsor an Information-Sharing Town Hall meeting on the services and programs offered by the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador that are useful and available for older persons as they age.  \nIn cooperation with the Office of the Minister of Children\, Seniors\, and Social Development\, the Honourable Paul Pike\, together with senior officials of several Government programs and services\, information will be provided on those services for seniors that are intended to assist older persons to live fully and engaged lives \, to live in their own homes as long as they are able\, and to provide relief on some of the basic needs in these times of high living costs. There will be time for questions and answers after the presentations. Tea/coffee/water and light refreshments will be available. To avoid congested parking\, consider getting dropped off or carpooling and bringing a friend! \nThere is no charge to attend this event.
