DESCRIPTION:NLPSPA is pleased to partner with CARP NL and the Public Legal Information Association of Newfoundland and Labrador\, to bring you a session on the importance of having a will\, when to update it\, pitfalls to avoid\, what to include\, what is probate and why/when\, what constitutes a valid will\, what is an Enduring Power of Attorney and the requirements and what is an Advanced Health Care Directive and the requirements.   \nOur presenter is Sara Hawkins\, an Access to Justice Coordinator with the Public Legal Association of Newfoundland and Labrador. Sara has over 15 years experience as a paralegal and has worked with private firms\, legal aid\, the courts\, and non-profits. She has worked with all aspect of the law but has a passion for seniors who need help navigating the legal aspects of aging. DESCRIPTION:The Canadian Red Cross (CRC) is pleased to partner with CARP NL to bring you a session on the importance of being prepared for an emergency. Everyone is welcome to this ZOOM event. \nOur Be-Ready: Emergency Preparedness workshop will take you through the 4 key steps:\n1. Know the Risks\n2. Make a Plan\n3. Build a Kit\, and\n4. Build a Network \nThe importance and relevance of this presentation comes at a time when we see the horrific fires in California and floods and wind damage in our own province.\nThe Order of the Red Cross is the highest honour awarded to a volunteer and Bernice Paul is a recipient for her lifetime of work and dedication. \nWe are delighted to have Bernice\, an Emergency Management volunteer with the Canadian Red Cross for over 47 years and on the Emergency Management team for the past 25 years. Bernice has assisted locally with personal emergencies\, such as house fires and has been deployed to numerous large-scale disasters\, such as 9/11\, floods\, fires\, hurricanes\, and tornados within Canada and the United States. \nPlease click on the link below to register for this event.
