DESCRIPTION:What is Nav-CARE? Nav-CARE is a free program\, matching trained volunteers with clients dealing with declining health conditions. DESCRIPTION:Party in the Park is an annual\, free event for seniors in Bowring Park which includes local entertainment along with light refreshments\, giveaways and more. \nFor 2024\, the Party in the Park takes place on Wednesday\, July 17\, from 1 to 4 p.m. on the lawn by Bowring Park Bungalow. Rain date July 18. If inclement weather occurs on July 18th it will move inside to the Shiner’s Club- 530 Topsail Road. \nA limited number of accessible parking spaces are available on a first come first serve basis at the Bowring Park Bungalow. All other vehicles that have accessible permits are permitted to drive through the park and drop off those attending the event. Enter via the gate by the large duck pond. \nTransportation \nThe City offers a bus to pick-up attendees at selected seniors complexes around the city. Advanced registration and a fee of $6 is required for pick up. To register for transportation\, please choose one of the following options: \n\nOnline at RecConnect\nIn person: H.G.R. There will be something for everyone; you won’t be disappointed! Your memories will drift back to poodle skirts\, tight jeans\, and fast cars! \nThe Cloudberries Choir is a community choir based in Holyrood. They have performed almost all genres\, including show tunes\, movie themes\, rock\, country-western\, songs of the 50s-60s and\, their most loved\, Gospel tunes\, to name a few. They have performed at seniors’ homes\, churches and other venues in various towns and communities around the Avalon\, to spread the joy of music and song\, as these opportunities arise.
