DESCRIPTION:Through the continuing partnership with the Canadian Foundation for Economic Education (CFEE)\, NLPSPA and CARP NL are pleased to co-sponsor the second in the ongoing series of online webinars for 2026 that are aimed to help older persons and retirees live with dignity\, confidence\, and financial security in their retirement years. The next workshop will take place\, as follows: \nWhen: Tuesday\, April 14\, 2026 \nTime: 2:00-4:00 PM \nRetirement isn’t just about stepping away from work — it’s about deciding what comes next. In this session\, we’ll explore how staying engaged through work\, volunteering\, and lifelong learning can support your sense of purpose\, connection\, and overall well-being. Whether it’s part-time work\, mentoring\, or giving back to your community\, participants will reflect on what meaningful engagement looks like for them\, and how to approach this next stage with intention. \nIn this session\, we will also examine the financial side of staying active in retirement\, including how earned income may affect benefits\, taxes\, and long-term plans\, as well as the trade-offs between paid work and volunteer opportunities. This session is designed to help participants think beyond “retirement” as an endpoint and instead see it as an opportunity for continued growth\, contribution\, and informed decision-making. \nThis is an online event. DESCRIPTION:NLPSPA and the participating associations of the Newfoundland and Labrador Seniors Coalition welcome the opportunity to provide an information session on the Re-launch of the Spaces Shared Program. This relaunch is made possible by the generous support of NorthPine\, whose funding has enabled the company to create dedicated resources and human support to serve communities across the province. \nSpaces Shared is a program designed to connect seniors who have a spare room with post-secondary students in need of safe and affordable housing.
