DESCRIPTION:Registrants are encouraged to arrive 30 minutes in advance to ensure the session starts on time. \nPlease bring along your iPhone\, smartphone\, iPad\, or whatever other portable electronic device you use for accessing online communication. \nThe curriculum is as follows: \n\n Digital Basics: \n\n\nIntroduction to computers\, operating systems\, and common hardware components\nNavigating the desktop\, files\, and folders\nUnderstanding basic computer terminology\n\n\n Internet Fundamentals: \n\n\nIntroduction to web browsers and their features\nConducting effective web searches\nUnderstanding website navigation and URL structures\nExploring online resources and tools\n\n\n Email and Communication: \n\n\nSetting up and managing email accounts\nComposing\, sending\, and replying to emails\nUnderstanding email etiquette and best practices\nIntroduction to video conferencing and instant messaging tools\n\nRegister here for Gander: https://form.jotform.com/240526629091255 \nAs there is a general class capacity of 50 people\, you will need to register early to secure your placement. If you are unable to attend for some unexpected reason\, we ask you to let us know so we can offer the spot to someone else. \nNLPSPA will be sponsoring refreshments during the session. Registrants are also encouraged to ensure their own personal care needs and any additional or special eating needs are met. NLPSPA and TechKNOWtutors express sincere thanks to the venue providers in Gander and Marystown for the contribution of meeting space for this training. \nMembers of the Newfoundland and Labrador Public Sector Pensioners’ Association in the Gander area are invited to participate in this session\, as well as any other seniors\, retirees or older persons who wish to increase their digital knowledge and comfort.
