SUMMARY:TechKNOWtutors: Digital Basics
DESCRIPTION:NLPSPA is pleased to partner with the TechKNOWtutors Program to offer a series of one-day beginner level digital learning workshops in key locations on the West Coast. Each workshop will begin at 10:00 AM on the date specified and will conclude at approximately 4:00 PM. Registrants are encouraged to arrive 30 minutes in advance to ensure the session starts on time. Please bring along your iPhone\, smartphone\, iPad\, or whatever other portable electronic device you use for accessing online communication.  \nThe curriculum is as follows: \n\n Digital Basics: \n\n\nIntroduction to computers\, operating systems\, and common hardware components\nNavigating the desktop\, files\, and folders\nUnderstanding basic computer terminology\n\n\n Internet Fundamentals: \n\n\nIntroduction to web browsers and their features\nConducting effective web searches\nUnderstanding website navigation and URL structures\nExploring online resources and tools\n\n\n Email and Communication: \n\n\nSetting up and managing email accounts\nComposing\, sending\, and replying to emails\nUnderstanding email etiquette and best practices\nIntroduction to video conferencing and instant messaging tools\nFebruary 16th Deer Lake at the Caribou 50+ Club\, Hospital Square.
