Dec 16th, 2015 (St. John’s, NL) – The Seniors Resource Centre of Newfoundland and Labrador (SRC NL) is pleased to partner with Choices for Youth (CFY) and the City of St. John’s to offer the Snowbusters Program for seniors living in the city.

“This free service has been so important to seniors who do not have anyone to shovel for them or who cannot afford to pay.” said Kelly Heisz, Executive Director of the SRC NL. “The City of St.John’s has been providing the funding over the years and  we are delighted to work with CFY which have the other necessary resources needed to offer this valuable service this coming year.”

“To us this is a matter of coming together as a community and looking after one another.” said Sheldon Pollett, Executive Director of CFY. “The work we do with young people is made possible by the generosity and support of our shared community, and we’re thrilled to be able to provide this service to seniors. For the young people involved, the program means meaningful work, connecting with seniors, and delivering a valuable service.”

We are pleased to also receive support from A. Harvey & Co. Ltd in helping to this initiative possible.

Ms. Heisz stated “If a senior needs this service, they can call our office. Space is limited.”
