October 6-7, 2015, at the Capital Hotel, Kenmount Road is the place to be for the 2015 NLPSPA Convention and the 25th Annual General Meeting. The theme for this year’s Convention is “Being Prepared for a Healthy Future” and we got some interesting and provocative session topics for you. You will not want to miss this year’s convention, so to encourage you to register to ensure your space, here is a little teaser of what to expect.
Dr. Roger Butler from the Faculty of Medicine at MemorialUniversity will be presenting a session on The Dementia Story in Newfoundland & Labrador: Should I be Concerned as a Senior Retired Person. Kevin O’Shea of the Public Legal Information Association of Newfoundland & Labrador will tackle the controversial topic of Assisted Suicide by discussing the legal questions of end of life decision making, the previous, new, and potential law changes in Canada and the impact this law will have on advance health care directives and other legal planning. And of keen interest to you should be our third session which will be a joint presentation from Great West Life (our new insurance carrier) and the Insurance Division of Government. It cannot get more exciting than this! And yes, there will be time for sharing and reconnecting with old friends, some laughs, and music to get your toes tapping and your spirits rising.
The AGM and Convention are open to all pensioners, seniors, and other citizens. Please feel free to invite non-Members of the Association to consider attending the Convention and for those eligible to join NLPSPA, we would be pleased to welcome them into membership. If you have friends who are members but who do not have email, please share this message with them. The fee for the Convention is $50 with a 50% reduction for NLPSPA fee paying members.
Early registration is encouraged. Click here for a copy of the registration form to print and send in with your payment, or call the NLPSPA office at 709-754-5730, toll free 1-800-563-4188, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
